Former American Internet Services CEO, Alessandra Lezama named CEO

San Diego, CA – September 19, 2013 – Abacus Data Systems, Inc. (Abacus), the pioneer provider of law practice management software for attorneys (est. 1983) today announced the hiring of Alessandra Lezama, a telecommunications and technology veteran, as CEO.

Lezama brings Abacus extensive cross-industry experience from her senior executive roles with American Internet Services, Allegiance Telecom and Comsat International, among others.

Before joining Abacus, Ms. Lezama was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of two Blackthorn Investment Fund companies directly responsible for the development and execution of turn around strategies and revenue growth. Prior to BIF Lezama served 8 years at AIS (American Internet Services) where first, as Chief Operating Officer and then as Chief Executive Officer, she grew the company from 25,000sqft to over 135,000sqft of datacenter space. Before joining AIS, Ms. Lezama held key leadership roles in sales, marketing and operations for Comsat International where she was responsible for launching and managing telecommunication services in Latin America. Earlier in her career, she held sales management and business development roles for Alcatel Telecom, Advanced Radio Telecom, and Allegiance Telecom.
